Clinic Google Ads Conversion Tracking

Separate contact clicks, accepted enquiries and booked consultations in clinic Google Ads reporting. Build a practical checklist for reliable measurement.

Define events before adding tags

Create an event dictionary with the exact trigger, owner and meaning of each measure. A telephone-link click means someone opened a calling action, not that a conversation happened. A successful form receipt means the request was accepted, not that the person is clinically suitable.

Keep diagnostic engagement such as scrolling separate from commercial outcomes. Decide which events are useful for campaign optimisation and which are observations. Do not treat every interaction as an equal conversion.

Follow one enquiry through the systems

Record the landing page and available acquisition details only where the consent setup and agreed scope support collection. Retain a stable receipt identifier so a form, CRM record and later outcome can be reconciled without counting them several times.

An enquiry type such as free audit or contact form is not the acquisition source. Use the available session source or campaign parameters for origin, and preserve unknown values where evidence is missing. Do not overwrite an earlier supported source with a later assumption.

Test success, failure and duplication

Use synthetic fixtures in an isolated environment for accepted submission, validation failure, server failure and repeated submission. Verify the final destination record as well as the browser confirmation. Keep test records out of genuine lead reports.

Check consent acceptance and rejection separately. Verify that optional analytics do not control whether the clinic receives a legitimate enquiry. A marketing tag failure should not turn an accepted form into an apparent submission failure.

Reconcile reporting differences explicitly

Compare platform events, accepted receipts and CRM outcomes for the same window. Differences can arise from consent, attribution models, delayed outcomes and duplicates. Document those differences rather than forcing every report to show the same total.

Review qualified, booked and attended outcomes only when those stages are supported by actual records. For the broader implementation method, use the linked attribution guide; for campaign planning, return to the main Google Ads guide.
